Barley

EkoNiva-Semena portfolio has malting and feed quality spring barley varieties bred in Denmark, France and Germany. Spring barley has a short vegetation period, but normally delivers higher yields than spring wheat due to better tillering capacity and TGW. The intended use — malting or feed — is of special importance in the crop stand management. The genetic traits of the varieties for malting quality grain production feature low protein in the grain (below 11.5%), which requires balanced nitrogen application rates.
