Soil requirements
Production of malting quality grain requires limiting the nitrogen application upon sowing to not more than 40 kg/ha active substance and the application of phosphorus-potassium fertilisers in autumn or spring — to 60 kg/ha active substance.
Pursuant to the technology for reaping a bumper harvest of fodder barley with a high protein content (13% or more), the amount of nitrogen fertilisers required increases up to 100–120 kg/ha andphosphorus-potassium ones — up to 90 kg/ha

Disease resistance
Moderately resistant to loose and covered smut; susceptible to helminthosporium blight. Rhynchosporium scald resistance is above average. A high powdery mildew and net blotch resistance. A very high fusarium head blight resistance
Crop protection
Particular attention needs to be paid to seed treatment. One fungicide application is necessary. In case of potentially high yields, two fungicide treatments and a plant growth regulator application are recommended.
