A mid‑maturing variety. The plant is of short to medium height, highly lodging resistant. The ear is pyramidal to cylindrical in shape, of loose to medium density, with moderate waxiness. The awns are long, crenate with anthocyanin coloured tips. The grain is large with a protein content of up to 11.4%. High drought resistance

Production of malting quality grain requires limiting the application of nitrogen up to 40 kg/ha active substance upon sowing. The application of phosphate-potassium fertilisers depends on their availability in the soil and is carried out simultaneously with the autumn or spring tillage. Pursuant to the technology for reaping a bumper harvest of feed barley with a high protein content (13% or more), the amount of nitrogenous fertilisers required increases up to 100–120 kg/ha active substance and the same of phosphate-potassium ones — up to 90 kg/ha active substance

Based on the results of field trials, the variety is resistant to loose smut and helminthosporium.
