A mid‑maturing variety. The plant is of short to medium height, highly lodging resistant. The ear is pyramidal to cylindrical in shape, of loose to medium density, with moderate waxiness. The awns are long, crenate with anthocyanin coloured tips. The grain is large with a protein content of up to 11.4%. High drought resistance

Production of malting quality grain requires limiting the nitrogen application upon sowing to not more than 40 kg/ha active substance. The application of phosphorus-potassium fertilisers depends on the soil reserve and is carried out during tillage in autumn or during sowing in spring. A bumper harvest of forage barley with a high protein content (13% or more) calls for an increase in the amount of nitrogenous fertilisers up to 100–120 kg/ha and in the amount of phosphorus-potassium — up to 90 kg/ha..

Based on the results of field trials, the variety is resistant to loose smut and helminthosporium.
