A mid-maturing lodging-resistant variety. The plant is of short to medium length with high environmental plasticity and drought tolerance.

Production of malting quality grain requires limiting the nitrogen application upon sowing to not more than 40 kg/ha active substance and the application of phosphorus-potassium fertilisers in autumn or spring — to 40 kg/ha active substance. A bumper harvest of feed barley with a high protein content (13% or more) requires increasing the amount of nitrogenous fertilisers to 100–120 kg/ha active substance and the amount of phosphorus-potassium — up to 60 kg/ha active substance.

Very high resistance to powdery mildew and net blotch. Moderate susceptibility to rhynchosporium scald

Special attention should be given to the appearance of the first signs of rhynchosporium scald. One fungicidal treatment, if necessary
