EkoNiva-Semena offers varieties of common and variegated alfalfa of Russian, European and American breeding. They feature high winter hardiness, even regrowth in spring and a high leaf-to-stem ratio. The varieties produce consistently high yields throughout 4 years. Variegated alfalfa is better adapted to the areas with extreme climatic conditions.

For proper alfalfa management, in the establishment year, it is essential to harvest the first cutting at the flowering stage as it is the period of active root system growth. The root can grow up to 4 metres deep. Each subsequent cut should be made at the bud stage indicated by yellowing of 2 bottom leaves of the plant. The height of cut should be no less than 7–8 cm to ensure cleaner forage and faster regrowth from the crown buds.
