Salyut Altaya
Soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L. var. lutescens)
Federal Scientific Centre for Agrobiotechnology, Altai area
A semi-intensive type of mid-maturing group
Maximum yield in production:
4.24 tonnes/hectare on average after fallow (in the Altai Institute)
State Register
West Siberian region
Development features
The high performance of the variety is due to its high stress factor tolerance, which is confirmed by the high productive crop density by harvesting time. The variety is characterized by consistently good gluten content and quality properties. Medium drought and lodging resistant, not prone to shedding

Agrophone
The best preceding crops are fallow, legumes, rape and potatoes. Nitrogen fertiliser: before sowing 50–60 kg/ha active substance, at stem elongation stage 50 kg/ha and liquid fertiliser during the filling stage 20–30 kg/ha. Phosphate and potassium fertiliser prior to sowing depending on the results of soil analysis
Disease resistance
The variety is characterized by a high resistance to loose smut, yellow rust and a relative resistance to stem rust. It is susceptible to covered smut, brown rust, septoria spot
Crop protection
Seed treatment with a fungicide and a nicotinoid group insecticide mixture. The first fungicide application in GS29 – 31, the second one – in GS49. The second application is of particular importance upon rainfall to prevent fusarium head blight. Insecticides to be added during fungicide treatments to control head pests
