Development features
Tender stems, 80–100 cm high, sometimes up to 150 cm. Leafiness in the 1st cut is 46–50%, in the 2nd cut 52–65%. The stand is dense, uniformly developed. The roots are short. It takes 60–70 days from the beginning of regrowth until the first cut. The variety is very winter- and drought-hardy, early maturing. Lodging-resistant. It lasts in the stand for 6–8 years, in floodplains up to 12 years. It survives water logging up to 50–60 days

Early spring, without cover crops. Summer sowing in June and July is possible

Intended use
Limited use for pasture. As the crop is undemanding to cultivation conditions, it is widely used for grassland renovation of floodplain and alkalized land as well as reclaimed marshes. Smooth brome is used for reclamation of disturbed, waste and low-productivity land, stabilization of slopes
